Diabetes: D.A.P.( Diabetes Assistance Program)

Hello Everyone!

I am forming a new program for diabetics. Its called D.A.P The Diabetes Assistance Program. It will assist not only seniors but all people with diabetes, and those at high risk. Providing them finacial assistance to purchase foods on their recommended diets during the month. Important testing supplies, and scales to weigh their food properly.

It will give people who have a family history, or are over weight assistance to stay healthy and give prevention information. I am looking for any one whom would like to participate in this program to contact me A.S.A.P. I need to prove there is a valid need for this program before I can get the financing to start.

So if you are interested you can contact: Lisa Robertson

The Gas in Your Car is not the Only Form on the Rise!

IBS and Fibromyalgia are linked like “Money and Change!” If you have Money There is bound to be some change! The problem is IBS is on the rise and over 70% of those with Fibromyalgia have or will have IBS problems in their life. No one truly knows why this occurs but that is no comfort for IBS suffers.

The doctors try to sugar coat it and say that IBS causes minor problems….but those of us with this and Fibromyalgia know that he is just making a said attempt at cheering us up…!

Fibromyalgia enhances EVERY pain you suffer…including IBS! IBS is just a sensitivity of the Intestines. Causing discomfort when going through the digestive process.

Women understand the levels of severity in cramps a little better then men. However IBS is causing them to understand us a little better these days. IBS is triggered by all types of things, below are some of the triggers I have come across in my experiences( keep in mind everyones different):

Triggers For IBS:

1. Dairy Products

2. caffines/carbonated-beverages

3. Fried Foods

4. Hot dogs

5. stress

6. Lack of sleep

7. Rise in Blood-Pressure

8. Elevated Blood Sugars

I struggle everyday to find all my triggers. The triggers very from person to person. The best way to find yours is to log your activity and food intake for at least a month. Monitor what foods do, and what activities do. Then start from there. My best advice is if you find something not sitting right…DON’T EAT IT!

Until next time…

Fibromyalgia and Pain

We all know that with fibromyalgia there is going to be pain but no one truly knows how bad it is like others who have it. Fibromyalgia enhances every pain you feel no matter how small it may seem.

This morning I had and accident and feel landing on my ankle. With the average person a fall like that might hurt them severly, however due to my fibromyalgia the pain seems a hundred times greater! The doctor sent me home with some Tylenol and told me I had to stay off it for 3-6 weeks…when are we going to get a doctor that understands our condition like we do?

Maybe I can go to school and become one…..not practical…though it would be nice!

This is nothing compared to…giving birth with fibromyalgia! Thats a horse of a different color. Anyway I thought that a few tips to console the accident prone….sufferer would be nice.

Pain Management tips:

1. listen to soothing music…this helps a little when I need to take my mind off the pain!

2. Find an activity to draw your attention away from the pain…sometimes when we are in pain it helps to distract ourselves by doing the things we love.

3. rest…if you are inbetween doses of medication, trying to get some sleep might help for an hour or too…if you can’t sleep watching a good movie helps me.

4. laugh…laughing releases hormones in the blood that can give you a sensation of …being high on life!

Talking with others like you often gives us some bit of relief…my mother once told me…” No matter how bad you feel…remember there is always someone suffering more then you.” I first thought this was sad but now I understand the postitive in it….maybe you will too!

Remember to keep smiling…

Until next time!

Lisa
